New 16-bit All Flash Microcontrollers

The all flash choice for 16-bit design.

The 78K0R/Kx3 Series includes 30 devices available in 64 to 144 pins and 64 KB to 512 KB of on-board flash memory. Its 16-bit-wide databus and 16-bit-wide ALU provide real 16-bit performance and can save you 30% or more on power consumption.

You may also be interested in our 8-bit all flash devices or 32-bit all flash devices.

Low-cost development tools are also available for these devices.

NEC Electronics' general-purpose microcontrollers offer reliable flash memory and come in a wide range of sizes and packages. The 16-bit all flash lineup is based on the 78K0 core, NEC Electronics' mainstream 8-bit core that provides flexibility and easy migration from 8- to 16-bit devices. Designers of new applications can benefit by upgrading to a higher-performance microcontroller without significantly increasing power consumption. Designers of existing 16-bit applications can benefit by significantly reducing power consumption and, as a result, increasing battery life.

Development Tools for 78K0R/Kx3

Low-cost development tools are available for designers to quickly evaluate NEC Electronics' all flash microcontrollers.

Target Board - QB-78K0RKG3-TB

This is a simple board that makes the device's I/O available for quick evaluations. This target board is supported by MINICUBE2 (sold separately).

  • Flash programming interface
  • Main and sub crystals mounted
  • Two LEDs
  • User breadboard area
DemoKit-KG3

DemoKit-KG3

The DemoKit-KG3 is a Low-cost demonstration kit for the NEC Electronics 78K0R/Kx3 microcontroller. It supports real-time source-level debugging without additional hardware.

MINICUBE2

The QB-MINI2 is an emulator that connects to a target device via Tool0/Tool1 interface. It includes an on-chip debugging unit and is used to efficiently debug both hardware and software. The same QB-MINI2 supports NEC Electronics' all flash microcontrollers.

IECUBE

The IECUBE is a full-function emulator used to efficiently debug both hardware and software. This high-performance emulator includes the NEC Electronics debugger and a simple flash programmer. It's compact and lightweight enough to fit in your hand, and is a cost-effective solution. Furthermore, an incorporated self-testing tool allows for easy maintenance.
